The Suits

Walking into the sea of people prior to the H Street Festival a couple of weekends ago I didn’t know what to expect. I did know that I wanted to leave the street festival with at least one or two “good” portraits. Looking for subjects to photograph isn’t for the faint of heart. I took a deep breath before approaching my subject below who just looked at regal as ever in his Sunday best taking in all the H Street revelry. “Sir can I take your photo?” Sure he replied in a hushed voice, let me go inside and put on my jacket. As he walked inside he asked that I photograph his buddy as well. So there you have it, two “good” portraits.

H Street Festival

I’ve lived in D.C. for almost ten years and I hardly get over to the H Street N.E. corridor. I’ve got to change that. What’s even crazier? This was my first time ever attending the H Street Festival. Great people watching makes for great photography.

For more photos from the H Street Festival visit ReadysetDC.

Primary Colors

The D.C. Democratic Primary is about to go down. Incumbent Fenty faces significantly reduced public support after a hot start when he took the reigns from Anthony Williams. Meanwhile, the crypt keeper from Ward 7, Vincent Gray is running under the mantra “One City. Leadership We Need.” Frankly, I can’t call it. If your a D.C resident get out and vote tomorrow.

Seattle Street

A little street photography from my recent trip to the Emerald City. Turns out my visit coincided with HempFest, I felt like I was walking through the world’s biggest bong on the Seattle Waterfront. I wish I could’ve take more photos of some of the characters I saw at HempFest, but they scared me.

PDX/SEA by iPhone

I’m slacking on my photography and blogging. I’ve been doing a lot of traveling this summer, which means there are a ton of photos to share. Until then, enjoy these iPhone shots from my recent trip out west. – Peace.
