Ballard Locks

Well I can now check this off my Seattle “to do” list. Done.

Last weekend Kiesha and I went to visit the Ballard Locks or as it’s officially known the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks.  After brunch on a whim we decided to head down to the locks and be tourist. We were in good company as a whole bus load of Japanese tourists arrived at the same time we did.  Kicking myself for not getting a photo with them. Well worth the visit if you’ve got the time in Seattle. I’ve really enjoyed exploring Seattle during my time here, I’ve only scratched the surface. I’ve promised myself to get out more and take advantage of what this city has to offer before I end up in a new one…who knows where that will be.

Oh and visiting the locks, made me realize I need a boat and that summer in the Pacific Northwest is America’s best kept secret.

More photos after the jump.

In keeping with my mantra of shooting and sharing more, I’m getting back to the streets. No agendas, no assignments, no thinking just shooting.  In other news, Flickr has been a ghost town as of late, not really doing it for me, so I’ve started a companion Tumblr where I’ll be sharing my photography also, check it.

Independence Day

Wow, I just realized I haven’t posted since May 8th. While I’ve been shooting here and there, the sharing part I haven’t been so good at lately.  Since my last post, I did pick up a Fuji X100.  Hoping this beauty will be my everyday camera. I still love my DSLR rig, but it can be so cumbersome to carry daily.
