2013 Photo Resolutions

This year, like my photography mantra I’m gonna “keep it simple stupid.”  Here are my goals for 2013.

1. Shoot more film.

Yeah I’m looking at you, bag of delicious 120 and 135 film sitting in my fridge waiting to be exposed. Let’s get nasty.

2. Get off the computer and get into the streets.

I spend way too much time in front of this thing. Between work, porn and social networks there are too many gardens to tend. I’ll make a  concerted effort to shoot more and click less. UPDATE: Attempt to shoot one roll a week.

3. Self publish a photography book and make prints.

Unlock my photos from my hard drive and set them free on paper.  Sadly, the only time I made prints were for exhibits and the occasional print for my home. Yes, I’ll be killing a tree of two but at the end of the year I’d like to have a book of my own photographs to flip through on the toilet. Who knows I might continue this tradition for years to come, the book part not the toilet, I do that every day.

Happy shooting folks and may each frame be a keeper.

I’ve made the decision to shoot more film as well, but I haven’t really thought about making a book. Come to think of it I haven’t really printed any of my personal pictures in a very long time. 2013 is the year I’ll do it, thanks for the inspiration.
